What items are acceptable for donation?

Currently, the Valley Cinderella Project is accepting clean, formal dresses, in a variety of sizes. Our Cinderella's are attending proms, graduations, gala events, and weddings. This means that we accept a variety of styles, from simple cocktail dresses to formal ball gowns. Although we accept all donations, generally our Cinderella's choose gowns and dresses that are less than eight years old. We are also accepting shoes, formal purses, jewelry, hair accessories, and new cosmetics to add that little sparkle to our Cinderella's.

Can I donate my used dress - after I attend my event?

Absolutely! We encourage all girls and women to donate their dresses and gowns after any formal event they attend; we are taking donations throughout the year. Since our busiest time is late spring and during the prom season, we highly encourage donations in early spring.

What happens to my donated dress?

Once the Cinderella Project accepts your cleaned dress, it will be placed into our selection of dresses and be either rented to a deserving Cinderella, for a minimal cost and allow many Cinderellas enjoy your kindness, or be given to a Cinderella, based upon your wishes. Due to the high volume of dresses we receive, donated dresses cannot be returned once they are placed into our inventory. If we are unable to use the dress, it will be is re-donated to another worthy cause.

How does Cinderella receive her dress?

For Cinderella's that are is in need of a dress for a prom, contact the email address below and explain what you are looking for and make sure to include your parent/guardian information. They also have to be present at the fitting. You will be given an opportunity to choose your dress, and if possible accessories. For Cinderella's that are in need of a dress for their military event or wedding; contact the email below and Genevieve will contact you and offer a time for fitting.

What about Prince Charming?

We currently do not have any clothing for Prince Charming as we are focused on Cinderellas.

I'm a Cinderella, what do I do with my dress after my event?

The dresses are rented/loaned for one month. This month will take into account when the event is and be returned in a reasonable time after the event takes place. Before the dress leaves the closet, a return no later than time will be set. We prefer the dress to be dry-cleaned, however it is isn't mandatory.

Can I become a fairy godmother?

If you wish to become a volunteer fairy godmother with the Valley Cinderella Project, please contact us via email. We have a small need for volunteer godmothers to assist in dress days with our Cinderella's. We are also accepting volunteers that can provide hair and makeup or sewing services. These volunteers are in great need to work that extra bit of magic to our Cinderella's look.

I would like to help, but I do not have a dress to donate. Can I donate money?

We do NOT accept cash donations. We do accept gift certificates from local local dry cleaners — our preferred drycleaner is Mid-Town Dry Cleaners.
